What’s Going On Here?

This began as a New Years resolution.  Don’t roll your eyes and click the “x” in the corner just yet.  It began as a New Years resolution, but it hasn’t ended as most do.

The resolution?  To “eat clean” at least one meal each day.  That basically means eating food that is as close to nature as possible (no added sugars, chemicals, or unpronounceable ingredients).  It’s harder than you would imagine, and easier than you’d imagine, all at once.

I also tried to follow Tosca Reno’s tips about combining a complex carbohydrate with a protein for maximum metabolism, which you can read all about in her books.  I don’t know her personally, and so far, have gained nothing from my references to her or her materials, other than the help they’ve given me on my journey to a healthier life.

I’m not a medical doctor or a nutrition expert so the words here are not meant to be medical advice.  You should talk to your doctor before beginning any new diet or workout regimen, yadda yadda…you know the drill.

This is just my experience, making healthier meals for myself and my family.  I’m documenting it to keep myself honest.  And just maybe, I’ll inspire others to make better and healthier choices for their own lives, even if they start out small and simple like mine!

I love comments and input, so please come along for the ride!  And you might want to start here: Getting Started.
